From the beginning of January, Buonissimo – a coffee shop brand that aims to bring Florence lifestyle to its customers opens its first shop in Florentia Village, Foshan. As we talked to its owner, Mr. Samuele Rossi who is originally from Italy, not only did we discover the charm and interesting stories behind Buonissimo but also enjoyed the products that Buonissimo provides to help you better enjoy a Florence lifestyle in Foshan!
Delta Bridges: 请您简要介绍下Buonissimo品牌的理念。
Could you please introduce the brand ideas behind Buonissimo?
It all started with an idea: we want to show the Florence lifestyle in a coffee shop. There are two key “ingredients” in making this come true, one is coffee and the other one is gelato. They are the essential parts of the Florence lifestyle. Then it comes to the name and we want to make it sound interesting. What does “Buonissimo” mean? It means, “非常好吃” in Chinese and “very good” in English. By having this name, we would like everyone who comes to this shop to have the feeling that everything is very good.
The design of Buonissimo coffee shop is also very unique. If you look at the pattern on the wall – the lily flower, it is the symbol of the city of Florence. The dominating colour of Buonissimo is blue as we discover that the new generation of customers prefer a much brighter and vibrant theme. Blue is definitely the colour for them. This also can be seen in our uniforms – jean material made aprons. The idea is to bring to our customers a young, relax and casual feeling.
What makes Buonissimo coffee so special? The variety of coffee beans? Or a professional team of baristas?
We invested huge amount of time in studying and selecting top quality products. In order to do that, we also rely on professional partners such as Mokarico Coffee. The owner of Mokarico Coffee travels around the world to find the best quality coffee beans and roasts them in Florence. Another example is that the recipe we use to make our gelato is tailor-made from an expert in Italy. We also have three types of gelato that have zero fat for customers who are look at reducing their calories. As you can see, from picking coffee beans in the fields to making a cup of coffee and gelato at Buonissimo, every single step is guided by the professionals to make sure that our products stay the best for our customers.
Why did you choose to open the first Buonissimo in South China at Florentia Village, Foshan?
First of all, Foshan has a very mild weather around the year even in winter. Gelato can be very seasonal. However, in Foshan, the warm and pleasant weather for people to enjoy gelato can last more than ten months. Secondly, as Florentia Village, Foshan is promoting itself as an Italian destination, it fits well with our idea which is to promote an Italian – Florence lifestyle. As I also discover from experience, people in the Canton region likes fruity, sweat and light flavours. All these elements make Foshan a perfect location for our first Buonissimo coffee shop.
In different parts of Italy, people hold different ideas about how to enjoy life. In your opinion, what is Florence lifestyle?
It starts in the morning with coffee. If you meet anyone in Florence in the morning, the first thing they would ask you is “Let’s go for a cup of coffee”. When it is time for lunch, this is when we see some changes. People are getting more flexible with a light meal because they have less and less time for lunch especially during workdays. But this does not stop them from coming back in the afternoon for a cup of coffee and snacks. After a nice dinner in the evening, people in Florence like to take a walk at a square and enjoy gelato. The products we have at Buonissimo provide our customers with all they need for a Florence lifestyle: top quality coffee, light meals, desserts and gelato.
