Henk Sneevliet (known as Maring in China) is not only a social activist and antifascist in the Netherlands but also one of the Chinese friends in the modern Chinese history. Between 1921 and 1923, Henk Sneevliet had been to china three times, including Guangzhou twice, and took part in the First & Third National Congress of the Communist Party of China and made an important contribution in the promotion of the Chinese Revolution.
Nong Jiang Suo Institute Museum in Guangzhou and the International Institute of Social History in the Netherlands (IISG) jointly hold the Exhibition of “Henk Sneevliet and China”. For the exhibition, IISG in the Netherlands contributes 113 exhibits (among which, 46 are original precious files and historical documents). And Nong Jiang Suo Institute Museum provides the other exhibits.
This year, after the Nineteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China was successfully convened, China have entered a new era of the Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. The cultural exchanges between China and other countries are also more closely. At the moment, in order to review the history and never forget why you started, we co-organizee the exhibition, show the exploration process of Communist Party China, and dispaly an important history of the relationship between China and Netherlands, which will have a important significance in the Sino-foreign cultural exchanges.
