DB:澳门设计中心的使命是什么?What is your mission?
澳门设计中心（MDC）是第一个提供给给澳门设计师、设计企业和设计爱好者交流、推广、学习和合作的平台，旨在促进“澳门良好设计”，帮助澳门本土设计品牌和公司建立业务，并协助本土设计师和相关公司在国际上扩展其网络。
Macau Design Centre (MDC) is the first platform to give Macau designers, design enterprises and design lovers the opportunity to exchange, promote, learn and cooperate. MDC aims to promote ‘Macau Good Design’, help the Macau local design brands and companies to build up their business and assist local designers and related companies in extending their network internationally.
DB: 谁会从中受益?Who benefits?
毫无疑问，澳门设计中心的成立，是推动澳门文化创意产业发展的重要因素。它有助于当地的设计公司和设计师开放澳门、香港、台湾、中国大陆和国外的市场，让更多的人了解澳门的设计。
It is no doubt that the establishment of the Macau Design Centre is a boost to develop Macau’s cultural and creative industry. It helps local design companies and designers to open up markets in Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and abroad, letting more people know about Macau design.
DB: 能告诉我们“澳门BOM设计”的概念是什么吗？Tell us more about the concept: “BOM DESIGN MACAU”
澳门设计中心有许多很专业的设计师，他们需要更多的机会去展现自己在设计方面的天赋与才能。这些本土的设计师深深地了解澳门的文化，并且也意识到如何通过设计的力量让澳门变得更好，所以，我们认为大众应该更多的去关注本土的设计，利用本土设计的力量去让澳门变得更好。
Macau Design Centre believes that there are lots of professional designers in Macau and they need more opportunities to show their talent on design. Those local designers deeply know the culture of Macau and they are well aware of how to make Macau better with the power of design. So, we think that people should focus more on local design and consequently using the power of local design to make Macau better.
DB：目前的多功能建筑包括舞台、商店、25个工作室、屋顶花园、展览室等等。在此之前，它只是一个废弃的老工厂。你为什么选择这座建筑作为你工作的场所，你是如何把它变成今天的繁荣之地的？The current multi-functional building contains a stage, stores, 25 studios, a rooftop garden, exhibition rooms and much more. Prior to this, it was just an old deserted factory. Why did you choose this building as a venue for your mission and how did you manage to turn it into the thriving location it is today?
我们之所以选择这个废弃的工厂来开发澳门设计，是因为我们认为设计应该在人们的生活中得以实现。建筑位于居民区,是为了让澳门设计融入到人们行为活动中的最直接的方式之一,如设计竞赛、展览、音乐会等。在这里你可以得到关于设计与艺术最新的资讯。它吸引了包括设计师、学生、当地人和游客在内的人们前来参观MDC。
The reason why we chose this old deserted factory as a home to develop Macau design is that we do think design should be implemented in people’s life. The building is located in a residential area and one of the most direct ways to know more about Macau Design is to join the different kinds of events that we hold at the Macau Design Centre, such as design competitions, exhibitions, concerts etc. Here you can get the most updated information of design and arts. It attracts people including: designers, students, locals and tourists to come and visit MDC.
DB: 最近是澳门设计中心两周年纪念，自从它成立以来你们最大的成就是什么？You recently celebrated the 2nd anniversary of the Design Centre. What has your biggest achievement been since opening?
MDC举办了各式各样的国际盛会，研讨会和展览。例如，在澳门举办的“自我与自我展示”，由“家庭舞蹈水小组”举办的慈善活动，由来自日本、台湾、香港和深圳的几位设计师举行的研讨会，以及澳门爱尔兰节日设计院落。这些活动都在MDC成功举行。

MDC is always hosting different kinds of international events, workshops and exhibitions. For example, the ‘self unself exhibition’ in Macau, the charity events by house dancing water team, the Design Seminar of several designers from Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Shenzhen and the Macau Irish Festival Design Yard are successfully held at MDC.

DB: 澳门是如何影响你事业发展的呢？How has Macau as a location influenced your venture?
澳门是中西文化融合的区域。在这种文化背景下，澳门的设计因文化元素的不同而变得独特。近年来，澳门政府亦致力于发展文化创意产业，为本地设计公司及澳门设计中心提供良好的基础和动力。但对于目前的国家来说，它还需要很长一段时间才能变得成熟。
Macau is a place where Chinese and Western cultures are well integrated. In this culture background, Macau design becomes special and unique with different cultural elements. In recent years, Macau government also focuses on developing the cultural and creative industry, which provides a good foundation and motivation for the local design companies and Macau Design Centre. But for the current state, it still needs a long time to become mature.
DB：对于我们的读者来说，有什么激动人心的事情值得期待吗?他们又如何参与其中? Are there any exciting events coming up for our readers to look forward to and how can they get involved?
第11届澳门设计双年展由澳门设计协会主办。从今年5月开始，到12月，我们将举办颁奖典礼和展览，展示来自世界各地的优秀设计。
