On 29th January, on the one-year countdown to the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the Norwegian Embassy in China, the Consulate General in Guangzhou, the Consulate General in Shanghai and the Norwegian national team held a joint celebration event.
During the event, Ambassador Signe Brudeset mentioned in her remarks, she is confident that China will host an excellent Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and China will do very well in the Olympics.
Norwegians love winter sports. Norway is a strong winter sports nation. Sports and outdoor activities are an important part of Norwegian people’s daily life. Norwegian sport culture has grown from the closeness to nature, a

Norway is cooperating with China to exchange experiences on best practices to make the Winter Olympics in Beijing 2022 a great success. China has an ambitious goal of getting 300 million Chinese to participate in winter sports by 2022. Since then, the number of Chinese participating in winter sports has been increasing. Norway offers unparalleled expertise in design, management, and construction of winter sports infrastructure. Norwegian ski companies are well known across for world-class quality and innovative designs. As such, Norway is a natural and ideal cooperation partner for ski expertise and ski industry. The close cooperation between Norway and China in the field of winter sports will help winter sports thrive across borders.
