Xiaolan Town Charity Parade commenced on February 18 at 10 o’clock. Started from Xiaolan Town’s stadium, the 42 phalanxes of over 10,000 people marched along Guangyuan North Road and Jitou Road, covering 3.5 km.
The Parade and Jogging event has been held once a year with the theme of “helping the hopeless, helpless, poor, handicapped and elderly” for the 21th consecutive year. It has developed into the town’s charity brand. The fundraising of this year made a big leap to over 70 million yuan by Feb. 19, including 54.50 million yuan from companies and citizens for Yuanlan Mountain Park project and 14 million yuan from the townsman associations in Hong Kong and Macau.
