From 10th to 14th October, Delegation from Wallonia Belgium for 2017 China International Logistics & Transportation Fair (CILF) visited Guangdong and attended conferences in Guangzhou and Shenzhen to establish a stronger economic partnership between the regions of Guangdong and Wallonia. The delegation group has representatives from government organisations and companies such as Wallonia Export-Investment Agency (AWEX), Logistics in Wallonia, EU-China Logistics, Liege Airport, Euroterminal SA, Cabinet d’Avocats 109, Ouyao, Coastair Chartering and etc.
On Wednesday, 11th October, a seminar over the topic of “Through Belgium to Europe – Logistics & Transportation in Belgium” illustrating the importance of Belgium and more specifically Wallonia as a logistics hub was held at the Consulate General of Belgium in Guangzhou, organised by Wallonia Export-Investment Agency and Logistics in Wallonia. Consul-General Mr. Salden Joris René Y. gave an opening speech at the seminar in which he emphasised, “Guangdong and Wallonia present strong similitudes making them very complimentary partners. Just as Guangzhou has been for many years the main entry point to China, so has Belgium, thanks to its very strategical situation at the heart of Europe, evolved into the main entry point for the European Continent. ”
Later in the seminar, a strategical collaboration MOU was signed between Wallonia Export-Investment Agency, Logistics in Wallonia and Guangdong Cross-border E-commerce Industry Association aiming at intensifying the collaboration of two regions.
