New and classic Chinese New Year Cakes
The creative team of chefs at The 8 is preparing three varieties of Chinese New Year Cakes, and for the first time, will introduce a brand new flavour this year – the Taro cake with abalone, dried conpoy and preserved sausage. For those who love the classic Chinese New Year Cakes, The 8 will also once again prepare these two traditional favourites – Premium cane sugar cake with bird’s nest and coconut juice and Turnip cake with matsutake flavoured in fish broth. Each Chinese New Year Cake is priced at MOP 380*.

From 1 – 6 February, 2022, enjoy an intimate Chinese New Year lunch or dinner with family and friends at The 8, proud recipient of 3 Michelin stars for 8 consecutive years. In addition to traditional dim sum dishes, The 8 is also preparing an array of Chinese New Year specialties including Assorted Suckling Pig and Marinated Jelly Fish Platter, Sautéed Fresh Abalone with Sea Cucumber and Dried Conpoy; Braised Dried Oyster and Pig’s Tongue with Conpoy and Sea Moss, Braised Pork Spare Rib with Sweet Vinegar Sauce and more. In keeping with tradition, The 8 will serve a special selection of dim sum dishes during lunch period such as Steamed Sea Cucumber filled with Sea Moss and Dried Oyster, Deep-fried Prawn Dumplings with Italian Black Vinegar and Japanese Gari, Steamed Shrimp Dumplings with Bitter Melon and more.

Auspicious dishes at RTC – Noodle & Congee
In celebration of the Year of the Tiger, the chefs at RTC – Noodle & Congee, are preparing an array of auspicious Chinese New Year dishes from 1 – 15 February, 2022. Just some of the dishes on offer include the Goose Palm with Dried Oyster in Casserole, a symbol of good fortune, and the Steamed Fish Head with Pepper, which brings good fortune from the start of the new year.
