Fabrice Hyber returns to give lecture at Shenzhen on his life and work as an artist. A series of videos and photographs shed light on his creative process. Regarded as one of the greatest artists of his generation, Fabrice Hyber has developed a protean, original body of work that never ceases to amaze. A scientist by training, Hyber proposes an ambitious and inventive work “conceived as a gigantic rhizome that develops according to the ‘echo principle’”. Fabrice Hyber bring us a matrix of works inspired by organic hybridization systems, sprawling accumulations, and proliferating cellular mutations. These are the benchmarks for a formal output in perpetual flux between painting, installations, sculpture and drawing, and which defies classification. The genesis of his rigorous approach is almost always drawing.
海博先生这样说到：“其实有一个轮廓，只是拿起木炭和画笔在画布上描摹，第一句话就能道出整个的创作初衷”。因为在他那里快速作画能激发出原始的想法，这就是艺术家常说到的“不设防状态”。正是这些给了艺术家释放欲望的机会，来让他改变世界。亦诗情画意、或圆滑入世，这是一个反叛和自由主义精神的双重表达。
“Originally, there is often a line; the free movement of charcoal and pastels on canvas; a first ‘sentence’ whose intuition gives way to a wider project,” says Hyber. The speed of the drawing lends itself to the appearance of unregulated ideas, which the artist calls ‘non-vigilant states’. And it is these that give free rein to his desire to transform the world. This posture, at once both political and poetic, is the outpouring of a rebellious, libertarian spirit.
