Robuchon au Dôme and Casa Don Alfonso at Grand Lisboa Hotel have received the highest honours of the “Grand Award” from Wine Spectator 2020. The “Grand Award” is given to just 100 restaurants around the world that offer world-class wine programs, and Grand Lisboa is home to two of those restaurants. This marks the 16th consecutive year for Robuchon au Dôme, and the 11th consecutive year for Casa Don Alfonso to receive Wine Spectator’s top accolades for their impressive wine lists that continue to improve with each year. The Kitchen has also once again received the “Best of Award of Excellence” for the 9th consecutive year.

Grand Lisboa owns an impressive wine collection of more than 17,000 wine labels that are on offer at the hotel’s signature restaurants – Robuchon au Dôme, Casa Don Alfonso, The Kitchen and The 8. Combined, Grand Lisboa and Hotel Lisboa also house 23 wine cellars featuring a total of 245,000 bottles of French wine. One of the most significant is the recently refurbished French wine cellar, with 100,000 bottles on display – many of which are from eight of the most renowned Châteaus in France.

Each year, Wine Spectator awards restaurants all across the globe for their dedication toward offering high quality wines. To earn the “Grand Award”, wine lists must feature 1,000 or more selections; a significant breadth of top producers; depth in mature vintages and an array of large-format bottles. The wines must also pair well with menus and restaurants should offer the highest level of wine service. All venues are inspected by Wine Spectator to judge the overall dining experience and cellar.

To win the “Best of Award of Excellence”, restaurants must not only meet the criteria of “The Award of Excellence”, which requires a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu, this higher category of winners must demonstrate that they have taken their commitment a step further. The “Best of Award of Excellence” recognises wine lists that show excellent breadth across multiple regions and/or significant vertical depth of top wines along with superior presentation. In 2020, the “Best of Award of Excellence” award was granted to 1,387 restaurants.

In addition to receiving recognition from Wine Spectator, all four signature restaurants at Grand Lisboa garnered the “3 Glass Award”, while the hotel also received “Best Listing of German Wines” and the “Best Fine Wine Cellar Wine List” in China’s Wine List of The Year Awards 2019.
